Grape Seed Extract

The active ingredients in Grape Seed Extract (Proanthocyanidins) have anti-oxidant activity that is 2 times more powerful than Vitamin E and four times more than Vitamin C.  In addition to its own direct activity it works directly with Vit. E and C to make them more effective and long lasting.

Grape Seed Extract helps inhibit the enzymatic breakdown of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to strengthen blood vessel walls, including capillaries. These substances are vitally important in maintaining the proper structure and function of blood vessels and blood itself: 1) This helps red blood cells penetrate into the microcirculatory system and 2) prevent fluids from leaking out of the capillaries. As a powerful antioxidant it helps prevent oxidative damage to blood plasma and lipids.

Grape Seed Extract's antioxidant activity especially targets blood vessels by helping to inhibit oxidative damage to blood plasma and LDL (the so-called bad cholesterol).
